Mulan (live action adaption) starring Zhang Ziyi as Mulan For some reason I’ve taken an interest in the rumors surrounding this Disney-to-live-action adaption. I don’t think it will transfer very well … for two reasons. Disney movies are Disney movies for a reason—they are made by Disney. This film, to my knowledge, is not sponsored by Disney. The movie will be shot in English—most likely to appeal to Western audiences. I have no vendetta against films slated for Western palates, but I do not necessarily enjoy films that target audiences. I appreciate films that set out to make good films. Movies are an escape, and I think a good movie can make anyone escape.
